Braelon Allen had his most yards per carry of the season against the Dolphins: 17 carries, 104 yards and +2.0 expected points added (EPA), with 9 of 17 (53%) gaining positive EPA. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. He also caught 6 of 7 targets, both season highs, for 30 yards and -1.2 EPA.

His best carry came down 21-14 with 11:25 left: first and 10 at the Miami 11, up the middle for 10 yards to the 1, +1.41 EPA and 6.6 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. The drive stalled there. On second and 2 at the 2 he lost a yard, -1.21 EPA, and a sack on third down left the Jets with a field goal. He had opened the second half with 27 yards through right tackle and the fourth quarter with 16 through right guard, but was also stopped for no gain on third and 1 at the Miami 29.

It was a big step up on his start. Through Week 6 he had 74 carries for 314 yards, 2 touchdowns and -5.8 EPA, -0.08 a carry with 39% positive; here it was +0.12 a carry. Only his 116 yards against the Browns topped this.
