Hall carried twenty-two times for a hundred two yards and the touchdown that made it 17–3, four yards around left end with nine forty-four left in the third, and opened the next drive with runs of twelve and twelve. He caught both of his targets for sixteen yards. Twenty-two of the Jets' thirty-two running-back carries were his, in a 23–10 win over the Titans.

Breece Hall's touchdown Sunday came on second and three at the Tennessee four, nine 44 left in the third quarter, New York up 10 to three: left end, four yards, 17 to three. Tennessee had too many men on the field and the penalty was declined. The play was worth +1.5 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 3.9 points of win probability, the biggest single swing of his day. The Jets got the ball back a minute later at their own 22, and Hall's next two carries were 12 yards around left end and 12 behind the right guard, from the 22 to the 46. That drive ended in a 51-yard field goal.
The line: 22 carries, a hundred two yards, one touchdown, longest 13, 11 of the 22 successful, seven first downs, +2.3 expected points on the ground. Three carries went for 10 or more — the two twelves, and 13 around right end on first and 10 from the New York 47 midway through the fourth. 13 carries came before halftime for 45 yards, nine after it for 57. Eight of the first-half carries were on one drive: the 19-play, 11-minute 48-second drive that started at the New York 12 with a minute 51 left in the first quarter and ended in a 33-yard field goal. He also caught both of his targets, for eight yards each, and the second of them opened the touchdown drive.
The split: Hall 22, Braelon Allen 10, Kenyon Sadiq one. On the opening drive Hall was stopped at the Tennessee three on first and four, and Sadiq scored from there. Allen had the fourth-and-one conversion on the long drive and the 23-yard fourth-down touchdown run in the third that a holding penalty took away. New York threw 24 times, 11 fewer than Tennessee, so the carries were the offense: 32 to the backs, two fourth-down conversions, and a scoring drive in the third that took five plays.
Back in June the preview called Hall a fading line priced as a top-15 back — a back ranked eighteenth on 11.9 a game across 16, with the question being whether the offense around him could sustain the workload. Sunday sustained it: 22 carries, a hundred two yards, a touchdown, two catches, and the largest share of the backfield. That is one game against one defense, and the price question is about 17 of them. New York is home to the Packers on Sunday the twentieth. Watch whether 22 is the number again.
