Parkinson's one target was first and goal at the Denver 5 with 5:05 left in the first quarter, incomplete short right; Tyler Higbee caught the 5-yard touchdown on the next snap for the first points of the night. One target, no catches, on a night Higbee had 11, in a 30–26 loss to the Broncos.

Nothing to nothing, five oh five left in the first quarter, first and goal at the Denver five. Matthew Stafford threw short right for Colby Parkinson, three yards past the line, incomplete. −0.5 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. On the next snap Stafford threw short right to Tyler Higbee for the touchdown and the first points of the night.
That was the line: one target, no catches, no yards. The play-by-play notes him returning to the game with 37 seconds left in the first quarter, without recording when he left.
The Rams' tight ends were thrown to 17 times: Higbee 11, Davis Allen three, Terrance Ferguson two, Parkinson one. Higbee caught eight for 62 yards and the touchdown.
Back in June the preview said Parkinson's season had rested on eight touchdowns, more than he had scored in his first five seasons combined, while the 43 catches were the modest, repeatable part. Week One was one catch for six yards on the drive that died at the San Francisco one. Week Two was two catches for 15. Sunday was one target inside the five and nothing more. Three games: five targets, three catches, 21 yards, no touchdowns. The catches are coming at a lower rate than last year's, and the room's volume has gone to a different tight end in each of the last two weeks. Los Angeles is at the Eagles on Sunday the fourth.
