Cooper Kupp is on Seattle's initial 53-man roster, per Kole Musgrove at Seahawks Wire — and for the second consecutive week, that's the only individual entry his file has. No injury listing, no practice note, no quote, and no preseason snaps: the first offense didn't play a series in either remaining game. Athlon's post-cut depth chart lists him as the slot receiver, per Bryce Lazenby, which is the only lineup signal of the week and is a projection, not a snap.
The room around him kept thinning. Cody White was released and Emmanuel Henderson Jr. waived, both after strong finales, per Cameron Van Til at Seattle Sports; Velus Jones Jr. was released, per the Seattle Sports staff roster piece; Irv Charles went to injured reserve with a designation to return, per Andrew Destin at The Athletic. That leaves five receivers, with Montorie Foster Jr. the fifth, per Destin.
Our August 20-third episode watched for two things: any preseason snaps at all, and where Kupp lines up when the first offense plays a series. The answers came back none and never — the first offense didn't play a series in either game. Back in June the preview's single question was whether the second-receiver role survives another year of calendar at 33, and a full August produced nothing that bears on it, in either direction. For an established starter, no news in August is the neutral kind — but neutral is all it is. We're not reading a quiet month as a held job; we're reading it as a month without evidence, and the evidence starts arriving when the games do. We'll check back then.
