Dak Prescott was efficient and clean against the Eagles: 15 of 27 for 212 yards and three touchdowns, no interceptions and no sacks, plus 2 carries for 8 yards and a two-point run. Over 28 dropbacks, a scramble included, he was worth +12.5 expected points added (EPA), what a play was worth given down, distance and field position: +0.45 per dropback. His completion percentage over expected (CPOE), how often he completed passes against what their difficulty predicted, was +0.6.
The throw that put Dallas ahead for good came down 21-20 with 1:36 left in the third quarter. First and 10 at the Philadelphia 16: he went deep left to CeeDee Lamb for the touchdown, +2.2 EPA and 10.5 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win, then ran the two-point try in himself for 28-21. Two snaps earlier, a 73-yard Riq Woolen return touchdown off a ball ruled a backward pass was reversed on replay to an incomplete pass.
He made third down pay early. Down 7-3 in the first quarter, third and 8 at his own 31, he hit Ryan Flournoy deep right for 35 yards, +3.7 EPA and 11.8 points, and found Lamb for a 9-yard touchdown on third and 2 five plays later. Down 14-10 in the second, third and 3 at the Philadelphia 21, he threw deep right to George Pickens for the lead. Dallas converted 8 of 13 third downs.
It was a sharp turn from the week before, when he threw 54 times for 258 yards and two interceptions against the Packers. Through Week 6 he had +36.5 EPA on 268 dropbacks, +0.14 per dropback, a CPOE of +0.8, 10 touchdown passes and 5 interceptions.
