27 to 23, Cowboys, two 34 left, third and 14 at the Dallas 27. C.J. Stroud threw short right to Dalton Schultz, Schultz caught it for two yards and pitched it to David Montgomery, who was pushed out at the six. 24 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the biggest gain on any Houston snap, and Woody Marks scored on the next play.
The line: two targets, two catches, nine yards, +3.1 expected points added on his targets — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — almost all of it from that play. The other catch was seven yards on first and 10 at the Dallas 14 on the opening drive, which ended in Nico Collins's touchdown.
With Collins back, Schultz's two targets were fifth on the team. Back in June the preview asked how much of his volume would survive a crowded receiver room. Four games: 27 targets, 21 catches, 214 yards. Sunday, with the full room, was the low end of it.
