13 to three, Eagles, four 14 left in the first half, third and six at the Philadelphia 47. Matthew Stafford threw short left to Davante Adams, and Adams got out of bounds at the 35, 12 yards and the first down. +1.7 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Five plays later Puka Nacua ran in the Rams' first touchdown.
The line: nine targets, four catches, 32 yards, two first downs, −0.2 expected points on the targets. The 10 was the other conversion, third and nine at the Los Angeles 21 in the first quarter; the last five took the ball to the Philadelphia eight on the 98-yard drive. Of the five incompletions, two were deep middle in the first quarter, one of them on third and 12 before a field goal; two came back to back on second and third down to open the third quarter, the second deep left, and the Rams punted; and the last was first and 10 from the Philadelphia 19 with 97 seconds left, on the drive Kyren Williams finished.
Nine targets were third on the Rams, behind Williams's 13 and Nacua's 12, in Nacua's first game since Week One.
Back in June the preview's worry about Adams was that his big season rested on touchdowns, the least repeatable thing a receiver does. Through three weeks it had been a yardage season instead. Sunday was neither. Four games: 38 targets, 22 catches, 390 yards, two touchdowns.
