Smith caught 10 of 13 targets for 117 yards and a 22-yard touchdown on second and 19, and caught all four of his targets on the final drive for 38 yards, the last a 19-yard catch on third and six to the Tennessee 3 with 20 seconds left. Both of Jalen Hurts's interceptions were thrown his way, in a 24–20 win over the Titans.

17 to 20, Titans, 20 seconds left, third and six at the Tennessee 22, no huddle. Jalen Hurts threw deep left to DeVonta Smith, who was pushed out of bounds at the three, 19 yards. +1.9 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 12.3 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. On the next snap Hurts found Darius Cooper for the touchdown, and the extra point made it 24 to 20. Smith was thrown to four times on that drive and caught all four: four yards, nine, six, and the 19. 38 of the 65 yards.
The line: 13 targets, 10 catches, a hundred 17 yards, one touchdown, seven first downs, a hundred 88 air yards, and only +1.3 expected points on the 13, because both of Hurts's interceptions were thrown to him. The first: third and eight at the Tennessee eight, six 11 left in the first quarter, nothing to nothing, short right, picked off by Amani Hooker two yards deep in the end zone and returned 92 yards to the Philadelphia 10. −9.2 expected points and −27.9 points of win probability on one throw. The second: third and 12 at the Tennessee 44, six oh eight left in the fourth quarter, tied at 17, deep left, 30 yards in the air, intercepted by Marcus Harris at the 14; Smith made the tackle himself at the 17. The touchdown sat between them. Second and 19 at the Tennessee 22, a minute 55 left in the half, tied at seven, one snap after a holding penalty: deep right, 22 yards, +3.9 expected points, the largest figure on any Eagles play all day, and 10.8 points of win probability. The catches went eight, 10, eight, 18 and the 22 before halftime, then 13, four, nine, six and 19 after it — five for 66, then five for 51. Five third-down targets: three caught, all three converted, and the two interceptions. The 13-yarder came on third and 12 from the Philadelphia 29 with nine 21 left in the fourth, worth 10.2 points of win probability on its own. One of the 13 targets came inside the Tennessee 20, and that was the first interception.
Hurts threw 37 times. 13 went to Smith, six to Dontayvion Wicks, three each to Cooper and Johnny Mundt, two each to Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, Dallas Goedert and Saquon Barkley, one to Makai Lemon, and three carry no receiver. 13 is more than double anyone else on either team, and a hundred 17 of Philadelphia's 264 passing yards were his.
Back in June the preview made no call on Smith — the twelfth receiver off the board at pick 30, priced above where its one trusted pattern put him, with A.J. Brown's departure and a hundred 21 vacated targets as the upside it would not let carry a call — and it said to watch the target share with Brown gone, and the red-zone looks. Week 1 was six of 25 throws, the most on the team, and nothing inside the 20. Sunday was 13 of 37, so through two games the share is 19 of 62 throws, about three in 10. The red-zone column is still one look, and it was intercepted; the touchdown came from the 22. Two games lean toward the share being real and settle nothing about the scoring. Philadelphia is at the Bears on Monday the 20-eighth.
