Emanuel Wilson made Seattle's 53-man roster without playing a single preseason snap. That outcome runs straight through the test our own last episode set. On August 20-third we wrote that game touches before the finale would say the leg and the roster case were both alive — and neither game produced any. Bob Condotta at The Seattle Times put it directly: Wilson "did not play in the preseason due to a hamstring injury." But the roster case survived without the proof. Condotta wrote that he "seems assured of making the roster" a day before the cuts, and the initial 53 confirmed it, per Kole Musgrove at Seahawks Wire, with the Seattle Sports staff piece placing him third in the backfield "behind Price and Holani." The team kept him without needing to see him play. That's the week's finding, and it's a correction to our framing, not just an update.
Condotta's line also gave the injury its first specific name. What we'd carried since mid-August was an undisclosed leg injury suffered on August eleventh; "hamstring" is that injury being named, not a new one. What nobody has reported is a return: the week's accessed coverage contains no item on Wilson practicing, and no one has characterized his status for the opener in either direction. We won't either.
The room he rejoins tilted toward opportunity while he sat. Zach Charbonnet went to reserve/physically-unable-to-perform, per Charean Williams at Pro Football Talk — a designation that costs him at least the season's first four games; Jacardia Wright was waived, per the Seattle Sports staff roster piece, and Anthony Hankerson isn't among the three backs on Musgrove's list. Back in June the preview called availability — 34 straight games of it in Green Bay — Wilson's one skill, and our August file read the injury as a roster risk compounding daily. The risk didn't cash: Seattle kept him. The prior wasn't wrong that the days mattered; it was wrong about what they'd cost. Now the question reverts to the original one — whether he's on the field — and that answer has to come from the practice reports ahead. We'll pick it up when it does.
