Wilson led Seattle's backs with 9 carries but gained 14 yards, with no first downs and a long of 7. Both of his carries inside the Washington 5 came up short: a 2-yard loss from the 1 on the first snap of the second quarter, and 3 yards to the 2 before three incompletions ended that drive on downs. He did not carry after 5:04 of the third quarter, in a 33–31 loss to the Commanders.

Seven to nothing, Commanders, the first snap of the second quarter, first and goal at the Washington one. Emanuel Wilson went around right end and lost two yards to the three. −0.7 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and −2.6 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Seattle scored anyway: a pass-interference flag put the ball back at the one, George Holani was stopped for no gain, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught the touchdown. Late in the half Wilson had the ball again near the goal line, first and five at the Washington five with two oh seven left, left end for three to the two. Three incompletions followed, and Seattle turned it over on downs.
The line: nine carries, 14 yards, no touchdown, no first downs, three of the nine successful, −3.3 expected points on the carries. No targets. The carries went two, nothing, six, −2, seven, −4, three, one and one. Seven before halftime for 12 yards, two after for two. His last carry was a one-yard run on first and 10 from the Seattle 15 with five oh four left in the third, down 24 to 17; Seattle did not hand it to him in the fourth quarter.
Seattle ran 17 designed runs and threw 46 times, and after halftime it was five runs to 23 pass plays. Wilson had nine of the runs, Jadarian Price five and Holani three.
Back in June the preview made no call on Wilson: a back who had posted the same season twice in Green Bay, 502 yards and then 496, with 34 straight games played, signed to compete behind the first-round rookie while Zach Charbonnet recovered from a torn knee ligament. Week 1 was two carries. Week 2 was 21 for 92, most of them protecting a lead, and that episode noted four carries inside the Arizona five that did not score. Sunday he led the backs in carries again, in a game Seattle never led, and the two carries inside the five did not score either; that is six carries inside the five across two games without a touchdown. Three games: 32 carries, a hundred nine yards. Three games settle little. Seattle is home to the Chargers on Sunday the fourth.
