Three to nothing, Chargers, 10 oh three left in the first quarter, first and 10 at the Chargers' 23. Seattle had the ball there because Derius Davis had dropped a punt one play earlier. Sam Darnold threw short right to Emanuel Wilson five yards behind the line, and Wilson went 28 yards after the catch for the touchdown. +2.2 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 6.3 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the second-biggest gain on any Seattle pass or run. Seattle did not trail again. It was the first touchdown of Wilson's season, and he had a second before halftime. With a minute 29 left Jones intercepted Justin Herbert, AJ Barner caught one to the eight, and Wilson ran it in over left guard, 20 to three.

The line: 21 carries, 81 yards, one touchdown, three first downs, seven of the 21 successful, +0.2 expected points on the carries; four targets, three catches, 39 yards, one touchdown. The longest runs were two fifteens: on first and 20 after a holding penalty on Seattle's first drive, and on second and nine with seven oh five left in the game, up 30 to 20, to midfield. On third and one at the Chargers' 34 in the second quarter he went six yards for the first down, and Rashid Shaheed scored on the next snap. He caught a 13-yarder on second and six in the third quarter, with 15 more added on a low-block penalty on the Chargers, and the ball came out on one third-quarter carry before he recovered it himself. His first target was Darnold's first throw, short left, intercepted at the Chargers' 44, and Wilson made the tackle. All three of his catches were thrown behind the line of scrimmage, and he gained 54 yards after the catch on them.

The split: Seattle ran 30 designed runs, 21 to Wilson, seven to George Holani and two to Shaheed. Jadarian Price's name is not in the play-by-play.

Back in June the preview made no call on Wilson: a back who had posted the same season twice in Green Bay, 502 yards and then 496, signed to compete behind the first-round rookie. Week 2 was 21 carries for 92, Week 3 nine for 14, and across those two games six carries inside the five did not score. Sunday the touchdowns came, from the eight and on a catch from the 23. Four games: 53 carries, a hundred 90 yards, two touchdowns, and Sunday matched his most carries of the season.
