Nothing to nothing, eight 43 left in the second quarter, third and three at the Cleveland 43. Bryce Young threw deep left for Jalen Coker, 27 yards in the air, incomplete. −2.0 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 4.5 points of win probability lost, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Carolina went for it on fourth and three, Young was sacked for 10 back to the Carolina 47, and Cleveland took over there and kicked a field goal for the first points of the game. Three snaps before the incompletion, Coker had caught 13 yards to midfield, with a pass-interference flag on the Browns declined, and on the next snap he caught five more to the Cleveland 45.

The line: four targets, two catches, 18 yards, one first down, 80 air yards, −1.5 expected points on the targets. The fourth target was second and 10 at the Carolina 27 with a minute 26 left in the half, deep middle, 43 yards in the air, incomplete. All four came before halftime. After the break Young threw 30 passes, not counting a spike, and none was aimed at Coker.

Carolina listed Coker as questionable on its Friday injury report, per the team's site, and he was active on Sunday; Xavier Legette was inactive. The play-by-play records no injury to Coker during the game. Four targets tied him with Tommy Tremble and Chuba Hubbard, behind Darren Waller's eight, Brycen Tremayne's six and five each for Tetairoa McMillan and John Metchie.

Back in June the preview made no call on Coker: a receiver with 22 career games, a June contract that was belief rather than production, and a line that said if health held and the targets reached five a game, he would pay off. Week 1 was nine targets, eight catches, a hundred 38 yards and two touchdowns. Week 2 was the same nine and eight for 66. Sunday the targets fell under five for the first time, in the same week his name was on the injury report, which is both halves of the preview's condition moving at once. Three games: 22 targets, 18 catches, 222 yards, two touchdowns. One week does not undo two, and it does not say which half moved first. Carolina is home to the Lions on Sunday night the fourth.
