20 to 10, Eagles, seven 31 left against the Rams, fourth and two at the Los Angeles two. 10 straight Philadelphia runs had brought the ball from its own 36, and on third and two Jalen Hurts had gone around right end and been stopped for no gain. On fourth down he threw short left for Darius Cooper, and it fell incomplete. −2.9 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. The Rams went 98 yards the other way, then 79 more, and won 24 to 20.

The line: 12 of 27, 93 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, four sacks for 25 yards, and five carries for 18. The Eagles' 31 pass plays came out at −8.2 expected points. The first half was 10 of 18 for 83 and both touchdowns. Second and 11 at the Los Angeles 18, five 51 left in the half, up six to three, he went deep right for Cooper for the first. The second came with nine seconds left, 10 yards over the middle to Cooper, one snap after a 25-yard pass interference call drawn by Dontayvion Wicks. Before either, on fourth and two at his own 47 early in the second quarter, he hit Makai Lemon for 13, +3.2 expected points and 12 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it.

The second half was two of nine for 10 yards and two sacks. On third down all game he had nine pass plays, one completion and no conversions, and Philadelphia went oh for 12. Late in the third, up 10, he was stopped for no gain on fourth and one at his own 38. Young sacked him twice on the final drive. His 27 throws went seven to Cooper, six to Lemon, five to Wicks and four to Zach Ertz.

Back in June the preview's floor for Hurts was the running, the goal-line carries above all, with the passing capped. Sunday the goal-line carry was the third-and-two at the two, and it gained nothing. 93 yards is the fewest of his four starts. Four games: 713 passing yards, seven touchdown passes, three interceptions, 12 sacks, and a hundred five rushing yards.
