21 to 10, Browns, 11 42 left in the fourth quarter, second and 14 at the Cleveland 36 after a sack. Aaron Rodgers threw short right to Jaylen Warren behind the line, and Warren ran 18 yards after the catch for a gain of 13 to the 23. +1.4 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 5.4 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. On the next snap, third and one, Warren went behind the left guard for two and the first down, and Darnell Washington caught the touchdown on the next snap. Rodgers's two-point throw went to Warren, complete, and short of the goal line.
The line: 17 carries, 93 yards, no touchdown, seven first downs, nine of the 17 successful, +1.7 expected points on the carries; six targets, three catches, 33 yards. The longest run was 24 yards around left end out of the no-huddle in the second quarter, down seven, to the Cleveland 30; that drive ended in a missed field goal. The 13-yarder on second and three in the third quarter came on the first possession after Watt's fumble recovery, and that one ended in a punt. Five carries in the opening drive went for four, one, nothing, six and one before he added nine to the Cleveland 11, and Roman Wilson's touchdown came three snaps later. Three of his six targets fell incomplete, all short.
He had 17 of Pittsburgh's 19 rush plays; Travis Homer had the other two. Rico Dowdle, who appears in Weeks 1 and 2, is not in the play-by-play for a second straight week.
Back in June the preview called the carry split with Dowdle the entire bet on Warren. Weeks 1 and 2 were 10 carries and then 11. The last two games have been 17 17, with no split to speak of. Four games: 55 carries, 309 yards, about five and a half a carry, and no rushing touchdown yet.
