Jaylen Wright's name is on the costliest Miami snap against the Vikings, and he never touched the ball on it. A second-quarter Malik Willis throw toward him was ruled incomplete, and Minnesota's challenge turned it into a strip sack. His own costliest snap was third and two at the Miami 41 in the third quarter, down 12 to three: left guard for a loss of three, −2.2 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and a punt.
The line: five carries, seven yards, no targets, and five kickoff returns for 97 yards, two of them kicks he dropped and recovered himself. Ollie Gordon carried nine times for a hundred yards; De'Von Achane's name is not in this game's play-by-play.
Back in June the preview said the road to a real workload ran through someone else's body. Four games: eight carries, 17 yards. Five carries was his most of the season, and the work went to Gordon.
