Love completed 16 of 29 throws for 145 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, took three sacks, and converted one of nine third downs. In overtime his 15-yard completion to Chris Brooks, with 15 more on a roughness penalty, and a 14-yard throw to Matthew Golden set up the 26-yard field goal, in a 20–17 win over the Jets.

17 all, six 17 left in overtime, second and seven at the Green Bay 48. Jordan Love threw short right to Chris Brooks, who was pushed out of bounds at the New York 37 for 15 yards, and Jarvis Brownlee was flagged for unnecessary roughness, 15 more to the 22. +2.3 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 30.2 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the largest swing on any run or pass play by either team all afternoon. Love hit Matthew Golden for 14 to the eight on the next snap, and Trey Smack kicked the 26-yard winner on first down.
The line: 16 completions on 29 throws, a hundred 45 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, three sacks for nine yards, −3.2 expected points on 32 pass plays. Both touchdowns were short: six yards to MarShawn Lloyd on second and six with nine 40 left in the second quarter for the game's first points, and three yards to Christian Watson on second and three with eight oh two left in the fourth, down 17 to seven. Before halftime he was seven of 12 for 47 yards; after it, overtime included, nine of 17 for 98. Third down was the problem: nine third-down pass plays, all throws, two completions, one conversion, an 18-yarder to Golden on third and three. Green Bay was one for nine. His two throws that traveled 20 or more yards in the air both fell incomplete. Two scrambles were wiped out by penalties, one of them a seven-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. One of the sacks was a fumble a teammate recovered, and he fell on a Kaleb Johnson fumble in the second quarter.
The ball went 11 times to Watson, six to Golden, three each to Tucker Kraft and Skyy Moore, two each to Brooks and Lloyd, and once each to Jayden Reed and Bo Melton. Reed left injured on the second snap. Two pass interference calls drawn on throws to Golden were worth 61 yards that are not in the passing line, and the tying field goal drive started at the New York 19 after Moore's 63-yard punt return.
Back in June the preview made no call on Love: the eighteenth quarterback off the board, priced for continuation after two flat seasons, with the environment as the whole case for more and his September completion rate as the number to watch. Week 1 was 387 yards on 42 throws, 50 percent completions and a loss. Sunday was a hundred 45 yards on 29 throws, 55 percent and a win. 37 of 71 through two games is 52 percent, well under the 66 the preview quoted from last season, and the environment is now down a receiver. Two games settle little, and the number the preview named has been low in both. Green Bay is home to the Falcons on Thursday the 20-fourth.
