Nothing to nothing, 10 oh six left in the first quarter, first and 10 at the Green Bay 13. Kaleb Johnson went around right end and lost a yard to the 12, −0.9 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Two snaps later Jordan Love hit Matthew Golden for 45 on third and 11, and the drive ended in Christian Watson's touchdown. Johnson's next carry, five yards around left end to the Atlanta 38 with eight 44 left, came back on a holding penalty against Watson.
The line: four carries, six yards, no touchdowns, no first downs, one of the four successful, −1.8 expected points on the carries; three targets, one catch, 10 yards, one first down, −0.5 on the targets. The carries went −1, one, five and one; the five was first and 10 at the Atlanta 33 with four 38 left in the half, down 10 to seven. Three carries before halftime for five yards, one after for one. All three targets came on one possession, the drive that began with three 38 left in the third quarter, down 24 to seven: incomplete short right on first and 10, then 10 yards short right to the Atlanta 47 for the first down, then incomplete short right again on the next first and 10. The drive ended in a punt. One more incompletion his way in the fourth quarter was wiped out by an illegal formation flag. None of his carries came on third down or inside the Atlanta 20.
The split: Johnson four carries, MarShawn Lloyd four, and Love's one aborted snap. Nine rush plays for 17 yards against 54 pass plays, the fewest rush plays and the fewest rushing yards by any team in any of the 66 team-games this season. Five runs before halftime, four after.
Back in June the preview called Johnson a watchlist, and it was written about a different team: the 70-seventh running back off the board, a third-round pick coming off a Pittsburgh rookie year of 28 carries for 69 yards. Week 1, in Green Bay, was two kickoff returns and no carries or targets. Week 2 was eight carries for 32 yards, the most on the team. Thursday was four for six, tied with Lloyd, plus the 10-yard catch. Two games as a Packers running back say he shares the job evenly with Lloyd; neither says what the job is worth, because the two of them have carried 22 times between them in those two games. Green Bay is at the Buccaneers on Sunday the fourth.
