Sadiq's first NFL touchdown was a run: second and three at the Tennessee three, ten fifty left in the first quarter, left end, for a 7–0 lead. He also caught all three of his targets for twenty-one yards, one of them a throw eight yards behind the line that he turned into seven, and had a holding penalty that wiped out a Breece Hall run in the third quarter, in a 23–10 win over the Titans.

Kenyon Sadiq scored his first NFL touchdown with the ball in his hands as a runner. Second and three at the Tennessee three, 10 50 left in the first quarter, no score, one play after Breece Hall had been stopped at the three on first and four: Sadiq around left end for three yards. The play was worth +1.2 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and it finished an eight-play opening drive that had started at the New York 40 and turned on Omar Cooper's 30-yard catch on third and nine.
He had been thrown to earlier on that same drive. First and 10 at the Tennessee 46, 14 20 left, Geno Smith short left to Sadiq, eight yards behind the line of scrimmage by the play-by-play's air-yards figure, and he carried it to the 39 for seven. The other two targets came after halftime: eight yards on second and 15 from the Tennessee 37 in the third, on the drive that ended in a 51-yard field goal, and six yards on third and seven from the 47 with 10 35 left in the fourth, one short of the line to gain, and New York punted. Three targets, three catches, 21 yards, longest eight, +0.5 expected points on the targets. The other mark next to his name is a holding penalty with 11 37 left in the third quarter that wiped out a three-yard loss by Hall and cost 10 yards.
Jets tight ends were thrown to seven times — three to Sadiq, three to Mason Taylor, one to Jeremy Ruckert for four yards — out of 24 pass plays. Sadiq's three targets tied Adonai Mitchell and Mason Taylor for second on the team behind Garrett Wilson's seven, and his one carry was the only Jets carry Sunday that did not go to Hall, Braelon Allen or Smith.
Back in June the preview's read was a sixteenth-overall pick from Oregon, the fastest combine tight end in 14 years, coming off a June sports-hernia procedure the team called minor, with the house line that rookie tight ends make you wait. Sunday did not make anyone wait: a touchdown, three catches on three targets, a third-down target in the fourth quarter. It is also one game and 21 receiving yards, and the waiting the preview meant is measured in months. New York is home to the Packers on Sunday the twentieth. The number to watch is whether three targets becomes five.
