Coleman caught 1 of 2 targets for 37 yards, deep right to the Chargers 1 with 26 seconds left in the half, down 10–3, and Josh Allen scored on the next snap. He also recovered the Chargers' onside kick with 1:56 left, in a 24–16 win over the Chargers.

10 to three, Chargers, 26 seconds left in the second quarter, first and 10 at the Chargers 38, no huddle. Josh Allen threw deep right to Keon Coleman, 33 yards in the air, and he was brought down at the one after 37. +3.6 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 10.4 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the second-most valuable Buffalo pass or run by expected points. After a timeout Allen went over left guard for the touchdown, and it was 10 to 10 at the half.
The line: two targets, one catch, 37 yards, one first down, +3.1 expected points on the targets. The other was deep middle on first and 10 at the Buffalo 34 in the first quarter, 30 yards in the air, incomplete. Both targets came before halftime. With a minute 56 left in the game, up 24 to 16, the Chargers kicked onside and Coleman recovered it at the Chargers 45 without trying to advance. Buffalo did not give the ball back.
Two targets were fifth on the team behind DJ Moore's 10, Ty Johnson's four and three each to Dalton Kincaid and Khalil Shakir.
Back in June the preview's read was that Coleman's volume had never reached the level that carries, and that DJ Moore's arrival put another receiver above him. Week 1 was one target plus a two-point try in Moore's debut. Week 2 was six for six with Moore gone after the second quarter. Sunday, with Moore back and thrown to 10 times, Coleman had two. Three games: nine targets, eight catches, a hundred one yards. The target count has followed Moore's availability week to week, which is what the June read said it would. Three games settle little. Buffalo is home to the Patriots on Sunday the fourth.
