Malik Nabers carried the Giants' passing game against the Texans: 7 catches on 9 targets for 111 yards and +4.7 expected points added (EPA), what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. It was his fourth straight game over 100 yards. He drew a third of J.J. McCarthy's targets and 46% of the air yards.
His biggest catch came on the first drive. Down 3-0, first and 10 at the Houston 44, McCarthy threw deep right and Nabers was pushed out at the 2 after 42 yards, +3.36 EPA and 7.1 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. Tyrone Tracy Jr. scored on the next snap. Tied 14-14 with 29 seconds left in the half, his 27-yarder deep left reached the Houston 30, and the drive ended in a missed 44-yard field goal. He opened the Giants' overtime possession with a 9-yard catch to the 28; Cam Skattebo's 42-yard run came next.
It was better than his season rate. Through Week 6 he had 41 catches on 61 targets for 494 yards, 2 touchdowns and +12.7 EPA, +0.21 a target; here it was +0.52.
