Matthew Golden drew the most targets in the game against the Lions and got the least from them: 12 targets, 6 catches, 39 yards and -8.0 expected points added (EPA). EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
The costliest came down 10-7 with 4:20 left in the half. Fourth and 4 at the Detroit 7, Jordan Love threw short right and Golden caught it, but D.J. Reed held him to no gain: -3.0 EPA and 12.8 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. Two of his incompletions came on third down on the opening drive: third and 5 at the Detroit 33, and third and 3 at the 3 before the missed field goal. Down 17-14 in the third, two deep throws to the right for him on second and third and 8 fell incomplete, and Green Bay punted. He was hurt on a second-quarter incompletion and returned.
His best catch came on the second snap of the game: second and 5 at the Green Bay 40, 22 yards down the left side, +1.8 EPA and 8.8 points of win probability.
It was well off his season. Through Week 6 he had 57 targets, 30 catches, 501 yards, 3 touchdowns and +14.1 EPA.
