13 to 10, Raiders over the Chiefs, a minute 29 left in the third quarter, second and one at the Las Vegas 35. Mike Washington went up the middle and Fulton dropped him for a four-yard loss. −1.7 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and −5.4 points of win probability. The third-down throw fell incomplete, the Raiders punted, and on Kansas City's first snap after it Kenneth Walker ran 76 yards.

The line: nine carries, 18 yards, one first down, two of the nine successful, −4.1 expected points on the carries; two targets, one catch, −1 yard. The longest was 11 on second and 13 from the Las Vegas nine in the third quarter. A five-yard loss on first and 10 at the Kansas City 14 in the second quarter, Karlaftis making the tackle, helped turn that drive into a field goal. His catch, on a throw behind the line early in the fourth, lost a yard.

Back in June the preview called Washington a handcuff and said to watch whether the rotation was two backs or three. Four games in, it is still two: Ashton Jeanty 15 of the 26 rush plays, Washington nine, his most of the season. Four games: 24 carries, a hundred 20 yards, one touchdown. More carries, fewer yards each.
