Bryant's one target fell incomplete on third and 10 on Denver's opening possession, and his one carry went 16 yards around right end in the third quarter, Denver's longest run of the day. A week after leading the team with six targets he had one, plus a holding penalty that erased a 5-yard run, in a 20–13 win over the Jaguars.

13 to three, Jaguars, seven oh one left in the third quarter, first and 10 at the Jacksonville 48. Pat Bryant took the ball around right end for 16 yards to the 32. +1.0 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 3.4 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. It was Denver's longest run of the day, a yard longer than J.K. Dobbins's best, and the drive ended in Wil Lutz's 45-yard field goal.
The line: one carry, 16 yards, one first down; one target, no catches. The target came on Denver's first possession, third and 10 at its own 24 with 13 15 left in the first quarter, short right, broken up by Travis Hunter, and Denver punted. On the second possession he was flagged for holding on a five-yard Dobbins run, which turned second and nine into second and 19, and that drive ended in a punt as well.
One of 31 throws. Jaylen Waddle had 10 targets, Courtland Sutton four, three players had three, Troy Franklin two, and Bryant was one of four Broncos with one.
This week runs against the last one. Back in June the preview made no call on Bryant — priced as a fourth or fifth option on a deep depth chart, which is what his rookie season had been. Week 1 upended that for a night: a team-high six targets, four catches, 42 yards, and the episode called it a data point the preview did not expect while saying one game does not reorder a depth chart. Sunday it did not. Six targets became one on a day Denver threw for 288 yards, and the preview's pecking order, with Bryant down the list, is the one that showed up. One game each way. The average of the two is closer to the June read than to Week 1. Denver is home to the Rams on Sunday night the 20-seventh.
