24 to 16, Browns, a minute 46 left, first and goal at the Cleveland three, one snap after a pass-interference flag on fourth and 10. Aaron Rodgers threw short right to Pat Freiermuth for the touchdown. +1.1 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Rodgers ran in the two-point try, and it was 24 all.
The line: five targets, three catches, 17 yards, one touchdown. The other catches were five and nine yards in the second quarter, the nine on first and 10 from the Pittsburgh 35. A deep left throw 20 yards in the air fell incomplete with a minute 14 left in the half, and so did third and five from the Pittsburgh 37 in the fourth, before a punt.
Five targets tied Darnell Washington, the other tight end, who caught three for 27 and the touchdown that started the comeback.
Back in June the preview called Freiermuth a band player and named the split with Washington as the thing to watch. Freiermuth has had four or five targets in all four games. Four games: 19 targets, 14 catches, a hundred 25 yards, two touchdowns.
