Shaheed was thrown to six times, second on Seattle behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 11, and caught three for 35 yards, the longest a 23-yard catch on the first snap after Arizona tied the game. He also carried once for 4 yards, returned two kickoffs and three punts, and fumbled the second-half kickoff, which Seattle recovered and ran to the Arizona 37, in a 31–7 win over the Cardinals.

Seven to seven, 14 52 left in the second quarter, first and 10 at the Seattle 26, the first snap after Arizona tied it. Rashid Shaheed had brought the kickoff out 20 yards to get it there. Drew Lock threw short middle to him for 23 yards to the Seattle 49. +1.5 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 5.4 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Lock went back to him on the next snap for four. One play later Jadarian Price fumbled and the drive was over.
The line: six targets, three catches, 35 yards, one first down, −1.6 expected points on the targets, 67 air yards. The third catch was eight yards on third and 18 in the third quarter, and Seattle kicked the field goal that made it 17 to seven. The three incompletions: short left on third and 12 from the Seattle 10 in the first quarter; deep left on third and 12 at the Arizona 48 in the second; and deep middle, 30 yards in the air, with 25 seconds left in the half. His three third-down targets needed 12, 12 18 yards, and none converted. Five targets before halftime, one after. He also carried once, four yards around left end on second and 10 at the Arizona 16, the snap before Jaxon Smith-Njigba's third touchdown.
The return work: two kickoffs for 20 27 yards, three punts for 14, three and 12, and three fair catches. The 27-yarder opened the second half and ended with the ball out; Chazz Surratt recovered it for Seattle at the 26 and ran it to the Arizona 37, and four snaps later Seattle had the lead for good. The 14-yard punt return had 15 more added for unnecessary roughness and put Seattle at the Arizona 31; that drive died on fourth and one at the goal line.
Six of Lock's 26 throws was second on the team to Smith-Njigba's 11, and nobody else had more than two.
Back in June the preview made no call on Shaheed and framed him as one question with two answers on film: about 22 percent of the targets as the first option in New Orleans, about 10 and a half in Seattle after the November trade. 10 percent, it said, means the market read him right; anything past 15 means the contract did. Week 1 was three of 24. Sunday was six of 26, 23 percent. Through two games it is nine of 50, 18 percent, for 39 yards. The share has moved toward the contract and the production has not moved with it yet, and Lock threw all but the first three dropbacks of the two. Seattle is at the Commanders on Sunday the 20-seventh.
