Rashid Shaheed had his most receiving yards of the season against the Broncos and was on the wrong end of two turnovers: 8 targets, 5 catches, 66 yards, +1.1 expected points added (EPA) on his targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
The fumble cost the most. Down 14-3 with 2:34 left in the first half, second and 10 at the Denver 35, he ran around left end to the Denver 30, where Nik Bonitto forced a fumble that Justin Strnad recovered at the 34: -4.1 EPA and -7.1 points of win probability.
His best catch came in the third quarter. Second and 9 at the Seattle 31: Sam Darnold threw deep to the right and Shaheed caught it at the Denver 27, 42 yards, +3.5 EPA. A sack ended that drive at the Denver 29, and Seattle came away with nothing. A 33-yard catch late in the first half was overturned on replay.
He caught the two-point pass that made it 14-11 with 5:41 left, and a 10-yard catch on third and 6 on the drive that tied it. In overtime, on third and 7 at the Seattle 28, the throw for him was intercepted by Ja'Quan McMillian: -3.0 EPA.
Through Week 5 he had 19 targets, 9 catches, 96 yards and -8.3 EPA; his previous high was 35 yards in Week 2.
