Doubs caught 3 of 4 targets for 49 yards and two first downs, 41 of the yards in the fourth quarter with New England down 25 or more. His third-quarter target on third and six at the Jacksonville 20, down 14–3, fell incomplete before a missed field goal, and a 13-yard catch in the second quarter came back on his own pass-interference penalty, in a 35–6 loss to the Jaguars.

14 to three, Jaguars, nine 59 left in the third quarter, third and six at the Jacksonville 20, at the end of a drive that had started at the New England 38. Drake Maye threw short right for Romeo Doubs, 14 yards in the air, incomplete, with Montaric Brown the defender named on the play. −1.0 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and −4.2 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Andy Borregales missed the 38-yard field goal wide right on the next snap, and the next time New England reached the Jacksonville 20 it was down 25.
The line: four targets, three catches, 49 yards, two first downs, +3.1 expected points on the four. The first catch was eight yards on second and 14 from the Jacksonville 25 with nine 58 left in the half, pushed out at the 17, on the drive that ended in Borregales's 35-yard field goal. The other two came late: 21 yards deep left to midfield with 14 48 left in the game, down 28 to three, and 20 deep middle from Tommy DeVito on third and eight with five 25 left, down 29. Two third-down targets, one caught and converted. One target before halftime, three after. And one catch that does not count: first and 20 at the Jacksonville 31 in the second quarter, 13 yards to the 18, wiped out by offensive pass interference on Doubs and 10 yards back the other way. That drive still ended in the field goal.
The split: Mack Hollins had nine of New England's 30 throws that had a receiver, DeMario Douglas five, and Doubs four, third on the team. A.J. Brown was not on the field; the Patriots placed him on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain, per CBS Sports.
Back in June the preview called Doubs the most repeatable profile in the room — four straight seasons between 5.2 and 5.7 targets a game — and asked whether A.J. Brown's arrival would squeeze that volume. Week 1 was three targets and no catches, all of them after Brown left injured. Week 2 was four targets, three catches and 96 yards, with a 63-yarder. Sunday was four targets again. Three games, 11 targets, six catches, a hundred 45 yards: under four targets a game, against a career band above five, and Brown's absence has not concentrated the ball on him. Three games settle little. New England is at the Bills on Sunday the fourth.
