Diggs led Washington with nine targets, caught four for fifty-five yards and the ten-yard touchdown on third and six with ten oh four left in the fourth quarter that cut the deficit to one. His thirteen-yard catch on third and ten on the game's first drive was worth ten points of win probability, and five of the nine targets fell incomplete, in a 22–24 loss to the Eagles.

Third and six at the Philadelphia 10, 10 oh four left in the fourth quarter, Washington down nine to 17. Jayden Daniels short middle to Stefon Diggs, 10 yards, touchdown. The play was worth +3.2 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the second-largest figure on any Washington pass or run all day, and 8.1 points of win probability, the chance of winning after the play against before it. The play-by-play adds a 15-yard unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty on Diggs, enforced between downs. With the extra point it was 16 to 17.
Nine targets, four catches, 55 yards, one touchdown, four first downs, +3.8 expected points on the targets, longest 17. Nine targets led Washington; Antonio Williams and Terry McLaurin had four each. The first was the first third down of the season: third and 10 at the Washington 47, 13 25 left in the first, no score, short right for 13 to the Philadelphia 40, 10 points of win probability, the second-largest gain on any Washington pass or run, and the drive ended in a field goal. Then three straight incompletions — short middle from the Washington six, deep right on third and nine, short middle on first and 20 — before first and 10 at the Washington 44 with five 59 left in the half, short middle for 15, on the drive Jacory Croskey-Merritt finished from the one. Two more incompletions in the third quarter, short left on second and seven and short right on second and nine, then the touchdown, and then second and seven at the Philadelphia 46 with four 48 left, short left for 17, out of bounds at the 29, on the final drive. Five targets and two catches before halftime for 28 yards; four and two after for 27. Three third-down targets, two of them first downs. 83 air yards on the nine throws.
The ball went nine times to Diggs, four each to Williams and McLaurin, three each to Chig Okonkwo and John Bates, two each to Rachaad White and Dyami Brown, one each to Croskey-Merritt and Jaylin Lane, and five throws carry no receiver. Daniels threw 16 times before halftime and 18 after; Diggs's 55 yards were second on the team to Williams's 64, on five more targets.
Back in June the preview put Diggs on the watchlist — WR57 at pick one 43 for a receiver who had just caught 85 passes for a thousand 13 yards, priced that way because as of July there was no depth chart to project him onto — and it said the day he had a team with targets, the price would be wrong. Sunday he had the team and the targets, nine of them, the most on it, and turned them into four catches and the touchdown that got Washington within one. Nine targets is a share; four catches on nine is the other half of the line, and one game is one game. Washington is at the Cowboys on Sunday the twentieth.
