Franklin caught 1 of 2 targets for 27 yards, a deep-left throw on first and 10 that he took out of bounds at the Jacksonville 9 with 3:17 left in the half. His other target fell incomplete on first and goal at the 7, one snap before Denver's tying touchdown, in a 20–13 win over the Jaguars.

Seven to three, Jaguars, three 17 left in the second quarter, first and 10 at the Jacksonville 36, no huddle. Bo Nix threw deep left, 26 yards in the air, and Troy Franklin ran out of bounds at the Jacksonville nine after 27. +2.1 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 7.0 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Three snaps later Nix was intercepted in the end zone and the drive came to nothing.
The line: two targets, one catch, 27 yards, one first down, +1.6 expected points on the targets. No carry this week. The second target was first and goal at the Jacksonville seven with 11 56 left in the fourth quarter, down 13 to six, short left, incomplete. Nate Adkins caught the tying touchdown on the next snap. One target before halftime, one after.
Two of 31 throws. Jaylen Waddle had 10, Courtland Sutton four, and Adkins, Jonah Coleman and Tyler Badie three each, which leaves Franklin sixth on the team. His 27-yard catch tied for the third-longest Denver completion of the day.
Back in June the preview leaned watchlist on Franklin: second on the team in targets last season at just under 18 percent of them, then pushed into a fight for the third receiver role by the Waddle trade, with the pecking order and his usage near the goal line as the things to watch. Week 1 was one target of 28, seventh on the team. Sunday was two of 31, sixth, and one of them did come at the seven. Three targets in two games against last year's hundred and four is the number, and a good Denver passing day did not change it. Two games is early, and the order has now looked the same twice. Denver is home to the Rams on Sunday night the 20-seventh.
