Bijan Robinson did more as a receiver than as a runner against the 49ers: 20 carries for 63 yards and -5.3 expected points added (EPA), and 5 catches on 5 targets for 59 yards and +2.6 EPA. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Only 6 of his 20 carries (30%) gained positive EPA. His first two, on Atlanta's first drive, gained 18 yards; the other 18 gained 45, and a 31-yard run in the third came back on a holding penalty.
His biggest catch came up 19-14 with 2:26 left in the third. Third and 3 at the Atlanta 25, Michael Penix Jr. threw short right and Robinson was pushed out at the 44 after 19 yards, +2.07 EPA and 5.6 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. The drive ended in Drake London's touchdown. In the fourth, on third and 17, he took a lateral from London and ran 14 yards to the 36, a yard short. After Kendal Daniels's interception, his three runs from the San Francisco 19 gained 6 yards before the field goal that made it 29-20.
The carries ran below his season. Through Week 6 he had 111 carries for 641 yards, 4 touchdowns and +8.9 EPA, +0.08 a carry with half of them positive; here it was -0.26. The catches ran above it: 20 of 27 targets for 144 yards and -11.4 EPA through Week 6.
