Nix completed 22 of 31 throws for 288 yards, one touchdown and one interception without taking a sack, a week after 131 yards and four sacks. Ten throws went to Jaylen Waddle for 138 yards, all three of his third-down conversions through the air were Waddle's, and his 7-yard touchdown to Nate Adkins tied it in the fourth, in a 20–13 win over the Jaguars.

13 to six, Jaguars, 11 53 left in the fourth quarter, second and goal at the Jacksonville seven. Bo Nix threw short right to Nate Adkins for the touchdown. +2.0 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 16.2 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the largest gain by any Denver play of the day. The kick tied it at 13, and Denver scored again on its next possession.
The line: 22 completions on 31 throws, 288 yards, one touchdown, one interception, no sacks, +8.4 expected points on 31 pass plays. 11 of 16 for a hundred 56 before halftime, 11 of 15 for a hundred 32 after. Week 1 in Kansas City was a hundred 31 yards and four sacks, with one completion longer than 13 yards. Sunday he had eight completions of 16 or more: 49, 29, 27, 27, 20, 18, 17 16. On throws that travelled 20 or more yards in the air he was three of four for a hundred five. The interception was the costly one: third and eight at the Jacksonville eight with two 15 left in the half, down seven to three, into the end zone for Courtland Sutton, picked off by Jourdan Lewis. −4.3 expected points and −14.6 points of win probability, Denver's worst play of the day by both. On third down he threw eight times, completed four and converted three, and all three conversions were to Jaylen Waddle.
10 throws to Waddle, four to Sutton, three each to Adkins, Jonah Coleman and Tyler Badie, two to Troy Franklin, one each to four others. 10 different Broncos were targeted. He carried twice by design for nine yards and both moved the chains — a one-yard keeper on third and one at midfield that stood after a Jacksonville challenge, and eight around left end on second and six on the tying drive — then knelt three times to end it.
Back in June the preview leaned watchlist on Nix, the sixteenth quarterback off the board after a broken ankle in January, and named the designed-run rate in September as the thing to watch, because the ground scoring was the swing vote. Week 1 put a zero in that column and the fewest passing yards in the league. Sunday put a two in it, and more than doubled the passing yards. Two designed runs is a small number that is no longer nothing. One bad game, one good one, and an interception in each. Denver is home to the Rams on Sunday night the 20-seventh.
