Bo Nix won ugly against the Chargers: 16 of 27, 123 yards, 1 touchdown, no interceptions and 1 sack. He was worth -12.2 expected points added (EPA) on 29 dropbacks, -0.42 per dropback. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

The throw that mattered came with Denver down 17-10 and 8:56 left. Second and 5 at the Los Angeles 5, he hit Courtland Sutton short right for the tying touchdown: +1.6 EPA and +11.4 points of win probability. Denver's defense took the ball back on the next possession and the Broncos never trailed again.

His worst moment came at 10-10 with 1:15 left in the third quarter. A scramble up the middle from his own 40 gained 1 yard before Tuli Tuipulotu forced and recovered the fumble: -5.7 EPA and -10.6 points of win probability. Kimani Vidal scored on the next snap.

His best throw opened the scoring: second and 9 at the Los Angeles 39, deep left to Evan Engram for 34 yards to the 5, +3.1 EPA. He also ran for 1 yard on fourth and 1 at his own 44, a first down the Chargers challenged and lost.

The 123 yards were his fewest of the season. Weeks 1 through 4 brought -2.2 EPA on 145 dropbacks, -0.02 per dropback, with 3 interceptions. His completion percentage over expected (CPOE), how often he completed passes against what their difficulty predicted, was -0.2, after -3.1 across those four games.
