Bo Nix beat the Cardinals with his legs first and his arm second: 15 of 29 for 222 yards and a touchdown without an interception, plus 7 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown, in a 30-16 win at Arizona. Over 32 dropbacks, one sack and two scrambles included, he was worth +11.2 expected points added (EPA), what a play was worth given down, distance and field position, +0.35 a dropback.

The run came tied 6-6 with 3:57 left in the half. Second and 7 at his own 38, he scrambled up the middle and went 62 yards for the touchdown: +5.48 EPA and 20.3 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win, the biggest swing of the game. Up 13-6 early in the third, first and 10 at his own 48, he threw short left to RJ Harvey 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage, and Harvey ran 60 yards after the catch for the touchdown, +4.49 EPA. Late in the third his 47-yard throw deep right to Marvin Mims Jr. reached the Arizona 6 and set up J.K. Dobbins's touchdown. He completed 3 of 9 deep throws, for 94 yards.

Between the big plays it was harder going. His completion percentage over expected (CPOE), which compares completions with what each throw's difficulty predicts, was -3.0. Up 30-16 with 4:51 left, he fumbled a snap, -2.18 EPA, and Jaylen Waddle recovered it.

It was a turn from his season. Through Week 6 he had completed 114 of 189 for 1,049 yards, 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions, at -0.11 EPA per dropback over 202 dropbacks, -22.8 in all, with a CPOE of -2.4. His 222 yards were his most since Week 2, and his 73 rushing yards were nearly twice his 37 through Week 6.
