Kincaid caught seven of eight targets for 95 yards and a 16-yard touchdown on second and thirteen, led the Bills in targets after tying for second in Week 1, and had the most expected points added of any Buffalo receiver at plus 7.2. Six of the eight targets came before halftime, in a 41–31 win over the Lions.

21 to seven, Bills, two 56 left in the half, second and 13 at the Detroit 16 after a holding penalty. Josh Allen threw deep down the middle to Dalton Kincaid for the touchdown. +3.3 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the most valuable catch by a Bill all night that was not the Palmer touchdown. It capped a four-play drive that James Cook had carried from the 32 to the six.
The line: eight targets, seven catches, 95 yards, one touchdown, five first downs, +7.2 expected points on his targets, the most of any Buffalo receiver. 84 air yards, 39 after the catch. The catches: 25 down the middle on second and nine to the Detroit 42 on the second drive, three plays before the Palmer touchdown; 12 to open the second quarter; the touchdown; six and six on the drive before halftime; 23, short left and pushed out at the six, with two-oh-seven left in the third, two plays before Allen's scramble touchdown; and seven on second and 10 in the fourth. The one incompletion was deep right on second and one with 19 seconds left in the first quarter. Six targets before halftime, two after. No third-down targets. The interception Allen threw was intended for him — third and six at the nine — and was wiped out by defensive holding.
Eight targets put him first on the team, two ahead of Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman. Buffalo threw 31 times, converted nine of 11 third downs, and both of Kincaid's longest catches came on touchdown drives — the 25 three plays before Palmer's score, the 23 two plays before Allen's.
Back in June this show made no call on Kincaid: the career year had leaned on efficiency, and DJ Moore's arrival was expected to cap the ceiling. Week 1 contradicted that with six targets for a hundred 30. Thursday was eight for 95 and a touchdown, the team lead, and Moore was on the field for less than half of it before an injury took him out. Six targets and then eight is a pattern the June read did not predict, and the second week comes with the caveat that the receiver who was supposed to cap him was gone by the second quarter. Buffalo is home to the Chargers on Sunday the 20-seventh. Whether eight holds with Moore healthy is the question.
