20 to 13, Colts, 11 44 left in the fourth quarter against the Commanders, third and two at the Washington four. Daniel Jones kept it around right end for four yards and the touchdown. +2.2 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 4.1 points of win probability, the chance of winning after the play against before it. It was his first rushing touchdown of the season, on a drive of seven runs in nine snaps; he had also converted third and one on it, up the middle for a yard.

It was not the day's first big Jones play. The first came on the Colts' second snap: Oweh sacked him at the Indianapolis 24, the ball came out, and Washington recovered at the 21. −5.4 expected points and −7.4 points of win probability, the Colts' costliest snap of the game by expected points. Washington kicked a field goal. In the second quarter, third and 10 at the Washington 44, down six to nothing, he threw short right for Ashton Dulin and Douglas intercepted at the 34.

The line: 19 of 34, a hundred 43 yards, no touchdowns, one interception, two sacks, and −13.4 expected points on 36 pass plays. It was his first game of the season without a touchdown pass. His best clean completion by win probability was 13 yards to Tyler Warren on second and nine in the third quarter, six and a half points. Two designed runs, both conversions, one the touchdown.

Back in June the preview said availability was the input that kept failing, and to watch his designed runs. He has taken every Colts pass play in four games. The designed runs number five, two of them on Sunday. Four games: 84 of a hundred 32, 754 yards, three touchdown passes, four interceptions, eight sacks.
