30 to 27, Texans, 52 seconds left, first and 10 at the Houston 34. Dak Prescott threw deep left to George Pickens, who was pushed out at the 12 after 22 yards. +1.8 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 13 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Two snaps later CeeDee Lamb caught the winning touchdown.
His other catch was the longest play of the game. Down 23 to 13 in the third quarter, first and 10 at the Dallas 36: deep middle, 51 yards in the air, 53 in all, to the Houston 11. +3.5, the most of any Dallas play. Later that series, on third and seven at the eight, a throw his way drew a pass interference penalty that put the ball at the one, and Javonte Williams eventually scored from there.
The line: three targets, two catches, 75 yards, two first downs, +3.9 expected points on his targets. The incompletion was third and five at the Houston 21 in the first quarter, followed by a field goal.
Three targets were his fewest in four games, behind Lamb's 21, on 45 throws. Back in June the preview split Pickens's role by whether Lamb was in the lineup; all four games this season have been with Lamb. Four games: 28 targets, 18 catches, 225 yards, no touchdown.
