Germie Bernard came back from his 11-catch game at Tampa Bay with a short line against the Saints: 5 targets, 3 catches, 27 yards and -1.9 expected points added (EPA), what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

His best catch came tied 10-10 with 54 seconds left in the half: third and 10 at the New Orleans 34, a short throw over the middle that he took 20 yards to the 14, +0.8 EPA and 6.1 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. An unnecessary-roughness penalty on Pittsburgh's Mason McCormick moved it back 15 yards, and Chris Boswell kicked from 47 for 13-10. The costly target came on third and 8 at the Pittsburgh 47 on the second drive, a deep throw to the right that fell incomplete, -1.6 EPA, and Pittsburgh punted. His other catches went for 6 and 1.

Through Week 6, in five games, he had 24 catches on 32 targets for 227 yards, a touchdown and +0.5 EPA.
