Croskey-Merritt carried 19 times, his most this season, for 36 yards and three first downs, all three on second and one; 35 of the yards came before halftime and his seven second-half carries netted 1. A 48-yard touchdown run in the first quarter came back on an illegal formation penalty, and he caught his one target for 7, in a 33–31 win over the Seahawks.

Seven to nothing, Commanders, four 26 left in the first quarter, second and eight at the Seattle 48. Jacory Croskey-Merritt went off left tackle 48 yards for a touchdown, and an illegal formation on Washington took it off the board. The ball went back five yards, and three snaps later Washington punted. The play counts for nothing in his line and −0.5 expected points added in Washington's — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
The line that stands: 19 carries, 36 yards, no touchdown, three first downs, three of the 19 successful, −7.2 expected points on the carries; one target, one catch, seven yards, on Washington's first snap of the game. The carries went −1, nine, three, three, nothing, two, three, one, six, six, one, two, nothing, one, −3, two, −2, two and one. The nine, three and three came on the first three snaps after Jadarian Price's fumble, from the Seattle 21 to the six, and Rachaad White caught the touchdown on the next play. All three first downs came on second and one. 12 carries before halftime for 35 yards, seven after for one. Three came on the go-ahead field-goal drive in the fourth quarter, for two yards: two, −2 two. His last carry was the first Washington snap after Seattle cut it to 33 to 31, one yard up the middle with two 46 left.

Back in June the preview made no call on Croskey-Merritt: a 17-game rookie starter whose 805 yards were real and whose eight touchdowns it called the least repeatable part, with nine catches all year, and it said to watch the targets. Week 1 was 16 carries, a touchdown and one target. Week 2 was 12 carries and one target, with his share of the designed runs thinning. Sunday the share came back, 19 of 28, and the yards did not come with it. Three games: 47 carries, a hundred 42 yards, three a carry, and three targets, one a week. Three games settle little. Washington faces the Colts in London on Sunday the fourth.
