Love carried 14 times for 63 yards and three first downs against the Giants, his longest a 16-yarder on the opening touchdown drive, and caught one pass for minus 8. Tyler Allgeier had 8 carries and the rushing touchdown, in a 36–24 loss.

Nothing to nothing, 13 15 left in the first quarter, second and four at the Giants 39. Jeremiyah Love went around left end for 16 yards to the 23 against the Giants. +1.3 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 5.6 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, his best run of the day. He ran for nine on the next snap and two more on second and one, and on the snap after that Marvin Harrison caught the opening touchdown.
The line: 14 carries, 63 yards, no touchdown, three first downs, seven of the 14 successful, −0.3 expected points on the carries; one catch, −8 yards on third and 18 before halftime. Back in June the preview made no call on Love and said to watch the split, under a head coach who said he wanted a rotation. Week 3 was 21 carries to two; Sunday went back toward the rotation, 14 to eight, and Allgeier scored the rushing touchdown. Four games: 55 carries, 223 yards, one rushing touchdown, 11 catches.
