Jonathan Taylor had his quietest rushing day of the season against the Steelers: 15 carries, 45 yards, no touchdowns, -2.8 expected points added (EPA) on the ground. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Only 20% of his carries gained positive EPA.

The goal line defined it. Down 14-6 in the second quarter, first and goal at the Pittsburgh 2, he gained 1 yard, then was stopped for no gain from the 1; Tyler Warren scored on fourth down. Down 17-13 early in the third, first and goal at the 3, he gained 1, then lost 2 on second down: -1.4 EPA and -4.0 points of win probability. That drive ended with the Colts trailing 17-16.

His best run came down 24-19 early in the fourth: second and 6 at the Pittsburgh 30, 20 yards before he was pushed out at the 10, +1.5 EPA and +9.2 points of win probability. The drive stalled there, and it ended 24-22.

Through Week 4 he had 353 yards and 6 touchdowns on 86 carries, +5.6 EPA, with 44% of carries gaining positive EPA. His 15 carries and 45 yards were both his fewest of the season.
