Josh Allen beat the Raiders with a clean, efficient game through the air: 23 of 33, 255 yards, 2 touchdowns, no interceptions and 2 sacks. He was worth +10.2 expected points added (EPA) on 36 dropbacks, +0.28 per dropback. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

The throw that won it came tied 23-23 with 4:56 left. Third and 3 at the Las Vegas 29: a short pass to the left to James Cook, who was pushed out at the 3 after 26 yards, +2.7 EPA and +14.8 points of win probability. Cook scored on the next snap. Earlier on that drive, a 14-yard throw to Dalton Kincaid on second and 5 at midfield added +7.6 points of win probability.

His touchdowns went to Khalil Shakir from 9 yards in the second quarter and to Keon Coleman from 12 on third and 8 in the third, +3.1 EPA, after Dorian Williams intercepted Kirk Cousins. The sacks were costly: Quay Walker's on third and 3 at the Las Vegas 21 in the first quarter, -6.9 points of win probability, and Kwity Paye's on third and 9 before halftime.

This was close to his usual standard rather than above it. Through Week 5 he had +57.0 EPA on 167 dropbacks, +0.34 per dropback. His completion percentage over expected (CPOE), how often he completed passes against what their difficulty predicted, was +5.7, after +5.0 through Week 5. He ran 5 times for 1 yard, the first game this season he did not run for a touchdown; through Week 5 he had 8.
