Puka Nacua was the Rams' passing game against the Bills: 24 targets, 17 catches, 138 yards and a touchdown. The volume was enormous and the value modest, +4.5 expected points added (EPA) on those targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. He drew 24 of Matthew Stafford's 54 attempts.

The catch that defined his night came tied 34-34 in overtime. With 6:30 left, second and 10 at the Los Angeles 44, Stafford threw deep right and Nacua caught it at the Buffalo 35 for 21 yards: +1.7 EPA and +21.5 points of win probability, the Rams' biggest swing of the game. His next catch, 5 yards to the 30, gave back 8.5 points of win probability, and the drive ended without points.

His touchdown came down 19-14 at the start of the fourth quarter: second and goal at the 2, a short throw to the left. On the drive that tied it at the end of regulation he caught a 16-yarder to the Buffalo 28 with 1:09 left; the second-down throw for him from the 10 with 35 seconds left fell incomplete.

The volume dwarfed his baseline. In two games through Week 4, Weeks 1 and 4, he caught 14 of 21 targets for 199 yards with +1.1 EPA; his best was 9 catches for 125 yards against the Eagles.
