White's 19-yard run on third and nine from the Washington 34 with 1:55 left, up 33–31, was the longest run of the game; Seattle spent its three timeouts over the next three snaps and never got the ball back. He also caught a 6-yard touchdown on the drive set up by Jadarian Price's first-quarter fumble, carried 8 times for 35 yards, and returned a kickoff 38 yards, in a 33–31 win over the Seahawks.

33 to 31, Commanders, a minute 55 left in the fourth quarter, third and nine at the Washington 34. Rachaad White went around right end for 19 yards to the Seattle 47. +1.9 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 8.5 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the second-largest gain on any Washington pass or run. It was the longest run of the game by either team. White carried the next two snaps as well, no gain and three yards, with Seattle calling a timeout before each and after the second; then Marcus Mariota ran nine yards on third and seven, and Washington knelt twice.
The line: eight carries, 35 yards, no touchdown, one first down, two of the eight successful, −1.6 expected points on the carries; one target, one catch, a six-yard touchdown, +1.7. The touchdown was second and six at the Seattle six with nine 14 left in the first quarter, short middle, four plays after Washington recovered Jadarian Price's fumble; it put Washington up seven to nothing. The carries went two, two, five, four, nothing, 19, nothing and three. The second was third and four with 33 seconds left in the half, two yards and short, before the 57-yard field goal. The first no-gain in the fourth came on second and eight at the Seattle 20 on the go-ahead field-goal drive. Two carries before halftime for four yards, six after for 31. A five-yard catch in the third quarter came back on an illegal-shift penalty. He also returned a kickoff 38 yards to the Washington 44 after Seattle's first touchdown.
Washington's 28 designed runs went 19 to Jacory Croskey-Merritt, eight to White and one to Mariota. The last three carries by a Washington back were White's.
Back in June the preview leaned a little against White: a one-year, two-million-dollar deal as the veteran complement, with 40 catches a year as the skill that survives aging, and it said to watch who took the passing-down snaps. Week 1 was seven carries and two catches for five yards. Week 2 was the third-and-short back, six catches, and 13 of his first 14 carries had come before halftime. Sunday flipped that: six of the eight came after it, including the one that closed the game. Three games: 22 carries for a hundred yards, nine catches for 51, one touchdown. Three games settle little. Washington faces the Colts in London on Sunday the fourth.
