Lawrence completed 19 of 29 for 182 yards, three touchdowns to three receivers and one interception, and completed 5 of 6 third-down throws with four conversions, a week after completing one of seven. He also ran 15 yards on third and 4 to the New England 1 to set up the last touchdown, in a 35–6 win over the Patriots.

14 to three, Jaguars, nine 50 left in the third quarter, first and 10 at the Jacksonville 28. The drive that followed ran eight minutes 37 seconds and turned on third down four times. Third and one at the New England 34: Trevor Lawrence up the middle himself for two. Third and nine at the 31: short middle to Jakobi Meyers for 14. Third and 11 at the 18, after Lawrence was sacked for four: short right to Meyers for 13, down to the five, with a face-mask penalty on top. Then a false start, two incompletions, a Parker Washington touchdown called back for illegal use of hands, and third and 17 at the 17: deep left to Washington for the touchdown. That throw was worth +3.9 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the largest figure on any pass or run by either team.
The line: 19 of 29, a hundred 82 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, one sack, +7.6 expected points on 30 pass plays. The touchdowns went to three receivers: 12 yards to Josh Cameron on second and 10 for the first score of the game, 10 to Meyers on second and 10 late in the half, and the 17 to Washington. 13 of 20 for a hundred 11 before halftime, six of nine for 71 after. The interception: first and 10 at his own 20 with 11 13 left in the half, up seven, short middle for Brenton Strange, picked off by Marcus Jones at the 33 and returned to the 21. −10.7 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, Jacksonville's worst play of the day; New England turned it into a field goal. Six third-down throws, five completions, four conversions, and the miss was a throw with no receiver named, seven seconds before the half. He ran four times for 25 yards: two scrambles, the third-and-one conversion, and 15 yards on third and four from the New England 16 to the one, up 28 to six, the snap before Bhayshul Tuten's touchdown. Jacksonville converted eight of its 12 third downs.
The split: Meyers had eight of the 27 throws that had a receiver, Washington and Strange five each, and nine different Jaguars were thrown to.
Back in June the preview called Lawrence a most valuable player finalist, with a rushing floor underneath and two cautions: nine rushing touchdowns likely to fall back, and accuracy that had been ordinary. Week 1 was 18 of 23 with four touchdowns to four receivers, worth +19 expected points. Week 2 in Denver was −4.1, no touchdowns, and one completion on seven third-down throws. Sunday was +7.6, three touchdowns to three receivers, and five of six on third down. Three games, 54 of 81, 616 yards, seven touchdowns, two interceptions, and eight runs for 34 yards with no rushing touchdown yet, so the floor the preview described has come from the arm so far. Two good games around a bad one is not a season read. Jacksonville is at the Bengals on Sunday the fourth.
