Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes against the Texans and it was not quite enough: 24 of 41, 306 yards, 1 interception and +11.5 expected points added (EPA) on 43 dropbacks, in a 34-31 home loss. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

Two throws framed his first half. Down 7-0 early in the second quarter, third and 5 at the Houston 5, he threw short left for Jakobi Meyers and Calen Bullock intercepted it in the end zone: -4.8 EPA and -12.9 points of win probability, his costliest snap. Still down 7-0 with 6:56 left in the quarter, second and 10 at the Houston 27, he hit Bhayshul Tuten short right and Tuten went the distance: +3.4 EPA, +11.9 points of win probability.

The touchdowns kept coming. A 2-yard throw to Tuten with 59 seconds left in the half made it 14-10; a 1-yard throw to Nate Boerkircher cut a 24-14 deficit in the third quarter; a 7-yard throw to Travis Hunter early in the fourth made it 31-28. After Hunter's interception he drove Jacksonville from its own 20 to a 31-31 tie.

Per dropback he was exactly himself: +0.27, the same rate as through Week 5, when he had +42.4 EPA on 158 dropbacks. The accuracy dipped: completion percentage over expected (CPOE), which compares completions with what each throw's difficulty predicts, was -5.0 against +5.9 through Week 5. He was not sacked, after 10 sacks through Week 5, and his 41 attempts were his most this season.
