Seven to nothing, Raiders, four 33 left in the first quarter, third and 10 at the Las Vegas 48. Patrick Mahomes threw deep middle to Xavier Worthy, 40 yards in the air, and Worthy was brought down at the Las Vegas seven, 41 yards. +4.3 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 10.6 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Three snaps later Tyquan Thornton caught the touchdown that tied it at seven.

The line: seven targets, four catches, 70 yards, two first downs, +3.7 expected points on the targets. 12 on second and 15 in the second quarter; 10 on third and three with a minute 55 left in the half, converted, the snap before Thornton's 42-yard catch; and seven on the Chiefs' first snap of the second half. The misses: deep right on third and four on the Chiefs' opening series, short right on second and seven in the third quarter, and deep right on third and eight with a minute 35 left in the game, after the ball came loose and Mahomes recovered it, before a punt. Four targets before halftime, three after. With a minute 46 left he fielded the Raiders' onside kick at the Kansas City 45.

Seven targets on the 27 Mahomes credited to a receiver, one behind Thornton's eight. 70 yards was his most of the season.

Back in June the preview leaned watchlist on Worthy, and named the September target split between him and Rashee Rice as the thing to watch. Rice was not targeted on Sunday; his only snap in the play-by-play is a catch wiped out by penalty. The split that mattered was Thornton's, eight to seven. Four games: 22 targets, 14 catches, a hundred 33 yards, one touchdown.
