CeeDee Lamb got the volume against the Packers and the Cowboys got Muffed results from it: 9 catches on 18 targets, 70 yards, -14.3 expected points added (EPA) on his targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Both interceptions and both turnovers on downs came on throws to him.
The first interception ended a drive at the Green Bay 17. Down 7-0, third and 8 at the Green Bay 17, 14:23 left in the second quarter: a short pass over the middle for Lamb was intercepted by Evan Williams at the 3 and returned to the 20, -4.3 EPA and -8.0 points of win probability. Down 10-0 with 2:00 left in the half, first and 15 at the Green Bay 28, Brandon Cisse intercepted a short throw for him at the 18, -4.0 EPA and -9.3 points.
His best catch kept Dallas's only third-quarter touchdown drive alive. Down 17-0, fourth and 2 at the Green Bay 38, he caught a short pass over the middle for 17 yards to the 21, +4.0 EPA; Javonte Williams scored five plays later. In the fourth quarter, throws to him fell incomplete on fourth and 2 at midfield and fourth and 11 at the Green Bay 14, and the two-point try after Dallas's late touchdown missed him too.
It was a sharp turn from his start. Through Week 5 he had 51 targets, 39 catches, 507 yards, 4 touchdowns and +38.8 EPA, though Week 5 brought only 2 catches for 9 yards.
