23 to 20, Texans, 11 20 left in the fourth quarter, second and two at the Houston two. Javonte Williams went at right guard for the touchdown, and the extra point put Dallas ahead 27 to 23. +1.1 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and seven points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. It was his third touchdown of the day.

The first two came in the third quarter. First and eight at the Houston eight on the opening drive of the half: left end, eight yards, cutting Houston's lead to 16 to 13. The second took a while. From first and 10 at the Houston 11, Williams ran for six, then lost three; a pass interference call put the ball at the one, and he was stopped for a loss of three by Clowney. After a defensive holding penalty on fourth and three gave Dallas first and goal at the one again, he went up the middle for the score.

The line: 19 carries, 62 yards, three touchdowns, six first downs, nine of the 19 successful, +2.8 expected points on the carries; five targets, five catches, 21 yards, one first down. Seven carries before halftime for 36 yards, 12 after for 26. The best non-scoring carries were in the second quarter: eight yards on third and 22, which a Houston illegal-hands penalty turned into a first down, +2.6, and 13 on second and one with under two minutes left in the half. The long catch was nine yards on first and five in the first quarter.

Dallas called 23 designed runs: Williams 19, Tyler Goodson three, Lamb one.

Back in June the preview called his role a secure one and his touchdown total the part least likely to repeat. Week 1 was 12 carries and two touchdowns, Week 2 12 carries for 30 yards, Week 3 19 for 98. Four games: 62 carries, 231 yards, five rushing touchdowns and one receiving. The role looks secure; the touchdowns, so far, are repeating.
