17 to six, 49ers, four 10 left in the fourth quarter, first and 10 at the San Francisco 13. Bo Nix threw short left to Jaylen Waddle, 10 yards in the air, and Waddle carried it the last three for the touchdown. +2.1 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 8.6 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Tyler Badie ran in the two-point try for 17 to 14.

The line: six targets, five catches, 35 yards, one touchdown, +0.7 expected points on the targets. The touchdown was the only one of the five catches that moved the chains. The others went for two on Denver's first snap, six and nine in the second quarter, and five on third and 10 on the last drive. The one incompletion was the deepest throw his way, 18 yards in the air on second and eight at the San Francisco 43 in the first quarter.

Six targets tied Courtland Sutton for second on the Broncos, behind RJ Harvey's 10. 35 yards was third on the team, behind Harvey's 68 and Pat Bryant's 47.

Back in June the preview put Waddle on the watchlist for volume that did not convert, and the split with Sutton as the thing to watch. Weeks 1 through 3 were 20 targets, 11 catches and a hundred 50 yards. Four games: 26 targets, 16 catches, a hundred 85 yards, one touchdown. The split with Sutton was even again, six and six, and this time Waddle had the yards.
