Bateman caught 2 of 3 targets for 37 yards, including a 31-yarder deep left on second and five at the Baltimore 46 with 21 seconds left in the third quarter, the largest expected-points gain on any Ravens pass or run. His targets fell from a team-high 9 in Week 2 to 3 with Zay Flowers back, in a 34–31 win over the Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro.

24 to 21, Ravens, 21 seconds left in the third quarter, second and five at the Baltimore 46. Lamar Jackson threw deep left to Rashod Bateman, 20 yards in the air, and he was tackled at the Dallas 23 after 31. +2.4 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the largest figure on any Ravens pass or run of the afternoon, and nine points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. On the next snap Zay Flowers ran 20 yards to the three; the drive ended when Derrick Henry was stopped on fourth and one at the one.
The line: three targets, two catches, 37 yards, one first down, +2.1 expected points on his targets. The other catch was six yards on first and 10 at the Dallas 43 in the second quarter, the snap after the Ravens stopped Javonte Williams on fourth down; that drive ended in a field goal. The incompletion was second and two at the Dallas two with one 38 left in the game, down 28 to 24; on the next snap Jackson threw the go-ahead touchdown to Matthew Hibner. One target before halftime, two after.
Three targets were 15 percent of Jackson's 20 throws, third on the team behind Flowers's six and Mark Andrews's five. His 37 yards were second on the Ravens to Flowers's 84.
Back in June the preview asked which of Bateman's last two seasons was the fluke: nine touchdowns in 20 24, then two on 38 targets across 13 games last season, in a receiver room that kept adding bodies. Week 1 was one target, incomplete, with a 19-yard catch erased by holding. Week 2, with Flowers ruled out per BaltimoreRavens.com, was a team-high nine targets, seven catches, 88 yards and a touchdown. Sunday, with Flowers back, it was three. Three games: 13 targets, nine catches, a hundred 25 yards, one touchdown. So far his volume has moved with Flowers's availability; three games settle little. Baltimore is home against the Titans on Sunday the fourth.
